Alabama senior forward Libby Probst has been named Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her three-goal performance this weekend in the Crimson Tide’s 4-1 season-opening win over Tulane.
Probst lifted the Tide to victory by scoring the final three goals, including the game-winner, in a 10:13 span during the second half of Friday night’s match in New Orleans, La. It was Probst’s sixth career game-winning goal and her first career Hat Trick.
“Libby’s work ethic has been on display here for four years,” Alabama head coach Don Staley said, “and it showed again this weekend. I’m very pleased that the SEC has recognized her contributions to our success this weekend.”
Probst’s big opening match moved her up to seventh all-time at Alabama in points and eighth all-time in goals. This is Probst’s first SEC Player of the Week selection and she is the eighth Alabama player to earn the honor.
