TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - With the first home contests of the 2013 soccer season this weekend, Alabama has announced its promotional schedule for the upcoming campaign. The year's promotions will be highlighted by Movie Night, which takes place this Sunday, Soccer Scarf Night on Oct. 18 vs. Texas A&M and the Power of Pink game on Oct. 20 vs. LSU.
The promotional calendar begins this weekend, as the Crimson Tide soccer team is set for a pair of match-ups. Alabama kicks off the home season against Georgia State on Friday, followed by Mercer on Sunday. Both games are set for 7 p.m. at the Alabama Soccer Complex.
Immediately following the Mercer contest, Disney's "Finding Nemo" will be shown on the video board. Popcorn and refreshments for those in attendance will be provided by Centerplate and McAlister's Deli.
The match-up with nationally-ranked Texas A&M will be "Soccer Scarf Night," as the first 500 fans in attendance will receive an Alabama soccer scarf.
The annual Power of Pink game is scheduled for Sunday, October 20th vs. LSU. There will also be a special Halloween promotion on Thursday, October 31st vs. Auburn.
In addition to the main promotions, each home Thursday and Friday night games will be "Kids' Night" with the first 200 kids in attendance receiving a FREE hot dog & drink, with all fans will have the opportunity to receive team autographs after the game.
Friday's contest against Georgia State will be the student season kick-off event and Chick-fil-a Night. The first 500 students in attendance will receive a free pair of Alabama sunglasses, and the first 200 fans in attendance will receive a free Chick-fil-a sandwich.
