Soccer to be Televised Three Times in 2011

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team will have three regular season matches televised during the 2011 campaign, the Southeastern Conference announced. The three matches will be shown on ESPNU, Fox Sports South and CSS.

The first televised match on the schedule for the Crimson Tide will be when it travels down to Gainesville, Fla., to face the Gators. The two teams will meet on Oct. 9, with the match set to air at 2 p.m., CT on ESPNU.

In last season’s televised match the two squads played to a thrilling, 1-1, draw, which showcased a last-minute goal by Alabama in regulation.

The next weekend Alabama will welcome Arkansas to Tuscaloosa for a match that will air on Fox Sports South on Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. CT. The Tide downed the Razorbacks last season by the score of 2-1.

The final regular season match will air on CSS when Alabama heads to Athens, Ga., to face the Bulldogs. The match is scheduled for Oct. 23, with kickoff slated for 1 p.m. CT.
