TUSALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama head soccer coach Todd Bramble announced the 2014 spring schedule on Friday. The slate features six games in all, highlighted by a match against the Ghana Under-17 National Team, which will be played on March 4 at 7 p.m. at the Alabama Soccer Complex.
"We are excited about the variety of teams we get to compete against this spring," Bramble said. "It is an eclectic mix that will challenge us in different ways. We are particularly excited to play the U-17 National Team from Ghana and that should be a treat for soccer fans in our community to watch."
Each of the Tide's first four matches will be played in Tuscaloosa, with each of the final two games coming on the road.
Alabama will open the spring at home with a double-header on Saturday, March 1, against Montevallo at 10 a.m. and West Alabama at 2 p.m. The Tide will face Ghana on Tuesday night, and closes out its home schedule on March 16, when the Tide plays University of Alabama-Huntsville at 3:30 p.m.
The Tide will then travel for the final two games of the spring schedule. UA will play at Clemson on April 5 at 1 p.m. Alabama will then complete its spring season against SEC foe, Mississippi State, when the Tide travels to Starkville on April 10 at 7 p.m.
All home games will have free admission, and will be played at the Alabama Soccer Complex in Tuscaloosa.
