TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - On the heels of its second NCAA tournament appearance in program history, the Alabama soccer team took to the training field for the first time of the new year as the Crimson Tide prepares for the spring season.

"We are excited to get back to work with the team this week," UA head coach Todd Bramble said. "We will be working hard to maintain the momentum we gained this last fall."

The Tide will head into the spring season after making its first NCAA tournament appearance since 1998 and securing its first winning season since 2003. All-SEC performers Theresa Diederich and Pia Rijsdijk return for Alabama. Rijsdijk also earned NSCAA All-South Region honors.

"The focus of the spring is different," Bramble added. "Our main focus turns to the athletic and technical development of the individual players."

The spring schedule will be released at a later date.
