TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
This Sunday, from 3-5 p.m. the Alabama rowing team and the UA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee are hosting a Locks of Love event at Coleman Coliseum.
Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
"This is such a great cause," senior rower Tabitha Coleman said. "We're very excited about having everyone come by on Sunday and be a part of this. Just by something as simple as cutting your hair and donating to Locks of Love, you can make such a difference for a child in need."
Coleman and her teammates are encouraging Crimson Tide fans to come by and donate their hair to the cause. Professional stylists will be present to provide free dry cuts to all those who donate. Those interested can visit www.locksoflove.org for hair donation requirements.
Those who donate cannot direct where the hair goes or learn who receives it, nor can a recipient request hair specifically from Sunday's event.
