HANOVER, N.H. -
The Alabama rowing team closes out its regular season this Saturday in Hanover, N.H. with a tri-meet against host Dartmouth and Cornell on the Connecticut River. It will be the Crimson Tide's first competition in New Hampshire.
This weekend marks the Crimson Tide's second trip to the northeast this month, following a quad meet in Kingston, R.I. on April 14 where head coach Larry Davis and company faced off against Rhode Island, Boston University and Central Florida. Saturday is also a continuation of the Tide's pursuit of stronger competition. The Big Green competed at last year's NCAA Championships.
Alabama is coming off its lone home meet of the season, which came last Saturday against Iowa on the Black Warrior River. The Tide's Second Varsity 4+ boat took first in its race against Hawkeyes. It marked the first time a Big 10 school has competed on the Black Warrior.
Competition against Dartmouth and Cornell gets underway at 8 a.m. EDT with the Novice 8+ race, which will be followed by the Second Varsity 4+, the First Varsity 4+, the Second Varsity 8+ and the First Varsity 8+.
The Tide follows this weekend's competition with the Conference USA Championships May 11-12 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
