Alabama Rowing Set to Host SMU and Eastern Michigan on Saturday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – On Saturday, April 5, Alabama will host Eastern Michigan and SMU for five races on the Black Warrior River. Competition is set to start at 9 a.m. CT.

The teams will be racing a 2000-meter course, starting with the First Varsity 4 at 9 a.m. The Second Varsity 4 will follow approximately 20 minutes later. The Second Varsity 8 and First Varsity 8 will follow and the event will conclude with the Novice 8 at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Following the Novice 8 race, Alabama will honor its three seniors: Veronica Bruner (Long Beach, Calif.), Brianne Hadar (Tallahassee, Fla.) and Lynsey Marshall (Gloucester, Va.).

Admission is free and fans are encouraged to help cheer on the Crimson Tide from the Park at Manderson Landing, overlooking the Black Warrior River on Jack Warner Parkway. The meet will be the last chance for fans to catch the Crimson Tide compete in Tuscaloosa, as Alabama will compete at the Knecht Cup Regatta (April 2-3) and Dale England Cup Regatta (April 25-26) before beginning the postseason portion of the schedule with the Conference USA Championships (May 17) in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
