IRVING, Texas -
A total of 23 members of the Alabama rowing team earned a place on the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced today. Student-athletes named to the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
"It's exciting to see the ladies take responsibility for their academic success and knowing academics are really key to their success during their four years at the University," UA head coach Larry Davis.
The Crimson Tide is an affiliate member of Conference USA in the sport of rowing, where only Alabama and Tennessee sponsor NCAA Division I programs within the Southeastern Conference.
"More than half our team earned this honor," Davis said. "To have such a large percentage of our team be successful academically at such a high level, to me it's very pleasing and I'm proud of the ladies for being able to accomplish that."
The Tide's honorees include: Ashley Allison, Erika Baranek, Brittney Bebek, Emily Chadwell, Mary Christopher, Tabitha Coleman, Alyssa Drevenak, Melissa Etter, Ali Fabbro, JJ Fadely, Brennan Glynn, Kristen Hickman, Kristen Iverson, Melissa Jenkins, Caroline Lendl, Logan O'Neil, Caitlin O'Neil, Emily Osborne, Jessica Parker, Mariah Styer, Leigh Terch, Canella Tinker and Stephanie Varner,
