TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama rowing will gear up for its spring season with a scrimmage on March 8 as the Crimson Tide welcomes the Michigan State Spartans to the Black Warrior River.

Fans are encouraged to come and watch the event, which is free of charge and will take place on the scenic Black Warrior River. The best place to watch the action will be at Manderson Landing at the intersection of Jack Warner Parkway and McCorvey Drive. It will be just one of two opportunities to see the team in Tuscaloosa this spring, along with a meet against SMU and Eastern Michigan on Saturday, April 5.

Michigan State is a perennial contender in the Big Ten, never finishing below fourth at the conference meet, and has regularly qualified for the NCAA Rowing Championships. Alabama is gearing up for its final season in Conference USA before it makes the jump to the Big 12 next season.

Alabama begins its spring season in Oak Ridge, Tenn., at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16.
