Rowing Wraps Up Competition at Dale England Cup Regatta

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Alabama Rowing wrapped up its weekend on Lake Lemon at the Dale England Cup Regatta Saturday, with six boats competing over two different sessions.

Five of Alabama's six boats competed in two different sessions on Saturday, with four of them improving their times from the morning session to the afternoon session. Alabama's Varsity 8 turned in the best time of the day for the Crimson Tide, finishing the piece in 6:52.9 in the afternoon session, an improvement of nearly six seconds from the morning finish of 6:58.1.

The Second Varsity 4 and Second Varsity 8 turned in identical 7:05.6 finishes in the afternoon session, an improvement of over one minute for the Second Varsity 4 from the morning session. The Novice 8 finished in 7:22.8 in the afternoon session, improving from its 7:29.3 in the morning, while the Varsity 4 finished in 7:51.0, over seven seconds better than its 7:58.2 morning time. Alabama's Third Varsity 4 only competed in an afternoon race, crossing the finish in 8:12.3.

Alabama will have two weeks free from competition before resuming its season at the Conference USA Championships on May 17 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
