TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The No. 2 ranked Alabama Gymnastics team will hold an open practice in the main arena of Coleman Coliseum Friday, Dec. 31 from 12-2 p.m.

"This will give our fans a chance to come and see this year's team and get a sneak peek at our eight freshmen," UA head coach Sarah Patterson said. "At the same time, it will give those freshmen a chance to see what it's like to compete out on the floor of the Coliseum and adjust to that environment."

The Crimson Tide, which returned to campus on Dec. 26 after the Christmas Holiday, opens its season on Jan. 7 at home against Penn State. It will mark the first time since 2008 that Alabama has started its season in the friendly confines of Coleman Coliseum. Last season Alabama averaged a school and Southeastern Conference record 13,786 fans per meet, the second highest average of any women's athletics team in the nation.

Alabama gymnastics tickets are available from the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) and online at RollTide.com.
