Gymnasts Return to Practice; Caitlin Sullivan Joins 2009 Team
Dec. 27, 2008
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - After reporting back to campus Friday after its Christmas break, the Alabama Gymnastics team got right back to work Saturday with its first post-holiday practice. "Everybody enjoyed a great holiday and now we're back in the gym and working hard to get ready for the first meet which is just around the corner," Alabama head coach Sarah Patterson said. Among those reporting to practice Saturday was newcomer Caitlin Sullivan who graduated from Elkhart Central High School earlier this month to get her Crimson Tide career started early. "We're excited to have Caitlin here with us and as a part of the team," Patterson said. A member of the 2003-04 USA National team, Sullivan was fifth in the all-around and second on the floor exercise at the 2003 USA National Championships. She was the 2002 Junior Olympic All-Around Champion, taking second on the floor exercise and balance beam and earning a place on the J.O. National Team as well. Sullivan and the rest of the Crimson Tide open the 2009 season Friday, Jan. 9 at Auburn.
