TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
The Alabama gymnastics team engaged in its annual Ghosts and Goblins intrasquad Friday night in front of an overflow crowd at the Frances Smith Practice Facility in Coleman Coliseum.
"I really want to thank everyone who came out and supported our ladies tonight," UA head coach Sarah Patterson said. "It was important for our ladies to feel the pressure of competition tonight, but it was so amazing for them to compete in front of such an appreciative crowd. It was especially helpful for our freshmen."
The Goblins, which included All-Americans Sarah DeMeo, Kayla Williams and Kaitlyn Clark along with Mary Lillian Sanders, Amanda Jetter, Carley Sims, Lindsey Fowler and Ria Domier, came away with a very close win, beating the Ghosts 99-98. It was the Goblins seventh win the past nine years.
Team Ghost consisted of NCAA Champion and All-American Diandra Milliner, All-Americans Kim Jacob and Lauren Beers as well as Lora Leigh Frost, Hunter Dennis, Katie Bailey and Dominique Pegg.
