TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama gymnastics team stayed very busy Saturday afternoon on another beautiful day in Tuscaloosa.

After tailgating on campus, the 2014 team signed autographs on the University Quad before making their way to Bryant-Denny Stadium to cheer on the Crimson Tide football team against Mississippi.

"What an amazing day," UA head coach Sarah Patterson said. "It was the first opportunity for our freshmen to meet our fans. Our ladies truly appreciate the love and support the Alabama nation shows them. We truly have the world's best fans."

The gymnasts then cheered on the Alabama football team as they blanked the Ole Miss Rebels by a score 25-0 to remain undefeated on the season.

"There was such an incredible atmosphere Saturday night," Patterson said. "Deion Belue called the crowd `ground-shaking' and he was so right."

At halftime of the game, senior Diandra Millinerwas honored at midfield in front of 101,821 fans for winning the 2013 NCAA Vault Championship. Milliner's title is the 24th individual national title brought back to the Capstone by an Alabama gymnast. Accompanied by Patterson, Milliner received her national championship pendant from UA Director of Athletics Bill Battle.

"It's an indescribable feeling to stand on the 50-yard line in front of a sea of Alabama fans as one of your athletes is honored," Patterson said. "It was so loud when they announced Diandra's name, it was just awesome."

Milliner and her teammates are in the midst of official practices and will start the regular season in January.
