Junior Brittany Comeaux has retired from gymnastics due to recurring medical issues and will be on a medical exemption.
“After extensive consultation with our team physicians, it has been determined that retirement is the best option for Brittany health-wise,” head coach Sarah Patterson said. “She has been given a medical exemption and will remain on scholarship working toward her degree. And while she will no longer be competing, she will always be a part of our gymnastics family.”
The determination of her status was made before practice began for the current season. Comeaux, a native of Addis, La., is pursuing a degree in restaurant and hospitality management.
