TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama gymnastics team got official practices for the 2014 season underway with a three-hour session in the Frances Smith Practice Facility Thursday afternoon.

While the gymnasts have been working out since school started at the end of August, Thursday was the first coach-directed practice of the season. Sarah and David Patterson, in their 36th season leading the Crimson Tide, along with assistant coaches Bryan Raschilla and Dana Duckworth, set the pace for a spirited high-energy workout.

This year's team includes five seniors, four juniors, two sophomores and four freshmen. There are six All-Americans among the returners along with nine gymnasts that were part of the Tide's 2012 NCAA Championship and five that were part of both the 2011 and 2012 national title teams.
