Gymnastics Ranked Fourth Nationally Heading into SEC Championships

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama gymnastics team No. 4 in the national rankings heading into this weekend's Southeastern Conference Championships after beating Auburn last Friday 197.925-196.175 to close out the regular season.

Florida jumped to the top spot this week while LSU fell to No. 2 and Oklahoma remained at No. 3. With the Crimson Tide at No. 4, Utah is at No. 5 and Georgia at No. 6. UCLA and Michigan are seventh and eighth, respectively while Nebraska and Stanford round out the top 10.

There are four SEC schools in the top-six nationally and six in the top-20.

As a team, Alabama is ranked third on the balance beam, fourth on the vault, sixth on the floor exercise, and eighth on the uneven bars.

Individually, senior Kim Jacob and freshman Katie Bailey are tied at No. 20 in the all-around this week. Jacob is also ranked 14th and freshman Aja Sims is 18th on the balance beam. Sophomore Lauren Beers is ranked seventh on the vault while senior Diandra Milliner is ninth.
