TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama Gymnastics team remains the No. 1 team in the nation this week thanks to its fifth 197-plus score of the season, a 197.275 at No. 2 Oklahoma last Friday. The Crimson Tide became the first team in the nation to break the 197 mark for its regional qualifying score with a 197.155 this week.

The regional qualifying score formula takes a team's top three road scores and its next three highest scores, drops the high mark and averages the remaining five. Oklahoma is more than two-tenths of a point behind the Tide in the rankings with a 196.920 RQS followed closely by No. 3 UCLA's 196.900. Florida and Georgia round out the top five. The Southeastern Conference remains dominant in this week's rankings, with three teams in the top five, five in the top 10 and all seven in the top 20.

Alabama is also the nation's No. 1 ranked team on the vault and is second on the uneven bars and floor exercise and third on the balance beam.

Individually six UA gymnasts are ranked in the top 25 in at least one event. Senior Morgan Dennis, sophomore Ashley Priess and senior Ricki Lebegern are all ranked in the top 25 in the all-around with Dennis at No. 5, Priess at No. 9 and Lebegern at No. 24.
