Gymnastics Remain Fifth in National Rankings

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama gymnastics team remains at No. 5 in the national rankings this week. Rankings are determined by total season average at this point in the season.
The Florida Gators, Alabama's previous opponent, remain at the top of the rankings this week after posting a season-best 198.100 against the Crimson Tide. The Gators are followed by Oklahoma, Michigan and UCLA, all retaining their same positions for the second week in a row. The Tide will close out its regular-season home schedule with the Bruins and the Sooners in the coming weeks.
Alabama, which takes on No. 15 Auburn this Friday in Coleman Coliseum, is fifth on the vault and uneven bars and seventh on the balance beam and the floor exercise.
Junior Kim Jacob is ranked 16th in the all-around, third on the floor exercise and 16th on the balance beam after posting a 9.9 on the floor and tying her career-best all-around score of 39.425 at Florida. Junior Diandra Milliner is ranked 12th on the vault. Junior Sarah DeMeo placed eighth on the uneven bars, after leading the team in the event against Florida while senior Ashley Priess is 14th on the uneven bars.
