Alabama Gymnastics Moves Up to No. 5 Nationally

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama Gymnastics team moved up to No. 5 in the national rankings after posting a season-best score of 197.500 to beat Georgia last Friday. In addition to posting its best overall score of the season, Alabama posted its best floor exercise score of the season and fourth best all-time with a 49.625.

Florida remains in the top spot this week followed by Oklahoma, LSU, and Utah. Alabama took over the No. 5 spot this week and is followed by Georgia who dropped to No. 6. Nebraska, Michigan, UCLA, and Stanford round out the top 10.

Alabama is fourth on the vault and balance beam, fifth on the uneven bars, and ninth on the floor exercise.

Senior Kim Jacob is ranked 14th in the all-around, 12th on the balance beam, 19th on the uneven bars, and 24th on the floor exercise. Jacob tied her career-best of 9.950 on the floor exercise against Georgia. Senior Diandra Milliner is ninth on the vault this week after scoring a 9.925 to take first place against Georgia.

Senior Sarah DeMeo is 25th on the vault while sophomore Lauren Beers is 19th on the floor exercise.
