TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
Freshman Rachel Terry was named the Tide's Performance of the Week winner while junior Alyssa Chapman earned the Attitude of the Week award the Alabama Gymnastics coaching staff announced on Sunday.
Terry scored a career-high 9.9 on the vault at Arkansas to lead the Crimson Tide on that event. She also scored a career-high 9.75 on the uneven bars against the Razorbacks.
"Rachel had a great meet in Arkansas," Alabama head coach Sarah Patterson said. "She raced down the vault runway and just stuck that vault. I think she was surprised when her feet didn't move. It was a great vault and a tremendous boost for us."
Junior Alyssa Chapman competed in the Crimson Tide's vault and floor exercise lineup against Arkansas, scoring career-best marks in both events, turning in a 9.7 on the vault and a 9.75 on the floor.
"Alyssa has done everything that we've asked of her without complaint and with a lot of enthusiasm," Patterson said. "We asked her to do another vault at Arkansas, and even though she'd probably have preferred to do the first vault, she gave it her all, coming up with her best score this season."
After being on the road for three of the last four weeks, Alabama returns home Friday to take on the Denver Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum. Tickets are available through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262), located in the lobby of the Coliseum, or online at RollTide.com.
