Alabama senior gymnast Kim Jacob was honored with Capital One's Impact Performance of the Week honor it was announced Saturday afternoon on ESPN during the Crimson Tide men's basketball team's game at Georgia.
Jacob led the Tide's No. 2 ranked gymnastics team to a season-opening 197.150-193.425 win over the Missouri Tigers in front of 12,971 fans Friday night, winning the all-around with a score of 39.525, tying her career best. It was Alabama's highest opening team score in school history.
The Raleigh, N.C., native also won the uneven bars with a career-best score of 9.925 and the balance beam with a 9.875.
Jacob and her Tide teammates hit the road for their next meet, taking on Kentucky and Nebraska on Jan. 17 in Knoxville, Tenn.
