Gymnasts Host Open Practices in First Week of New Year

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The two-time defending NCAA Champion Alabama gymnastics team will host two open practices during the first week of the New Year.

The Crimson Tide, which returned to campus on Dec. 27 following the holiday, will hold a balance beam and uneven bars workout on the main floor of Coleman Coliseum on Thursday, Jan. 3 starting at 1:30 p.m.

Then, on Sunday, Jan. 6 at 1:30 p.m. head coach Sarah Patterson and company will hold a full practice in the Tide's newly revitalized Frances Smith Practice Facility.

Access to both practices will be through the doors nearest the track and field stadium on the west side of the coliseum.

The Tide opens the 2013 season on Friday, Jan. 11 on the road against Southeastern Conference newcomer Missouri. After its trip to Missouri, the Tide opens its 2013 home slate Friday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. against the LSU Tigers.
