GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The second-ranked Alabama women's golf team begins play at the Suntrust Gator Women's Invitational on Friday on the par-70, 6,074-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course on the campus of the University of Florida.

Alabama is fresh off a win at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate and have three tournament titles on its resume in 2012-13. The Tide finished runner-up by one shot to the host Gators at last season's Suntrust Gator Women's Invitational.

The Crimson Tide will begin this year's tournament at 8 a.m. (CDT) Friday's. Alabama will be playing with Florida and Oklahoma during the first round. Saturday's second round will get underway at 8 a.m. (CDT) with a shotgun start slated on Sunday beginning at 7:45 a.m.

Alabama will start the same lineup it has throughout the spring with junior Stephanie Meadow, senior Jennifer Kirby, junior Hannah Collier, true freshman Emma Talley and sophomore Daniela Lendl.

Meadow, who was named the SEC Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, after a third-place finish at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, is averaging below par for the season and leads the team with a 71.59 scoring average. She was also the Tide's top scorer in Gainesville last season, finishing fourth at even-par 210.

Talley, from Princeton, Ky., finished 12th last week in Hilton Head Island, S.C., and is second on the team with a 73.47 stroke average while Kirby is third at 73.71.

The Gator Women's Invitational boasts a 15-team field that features seven teams ranked in the most recent Golf World/WGCA Coaches' Poll - No. 2 Alabama, No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 5 North Carolina, No. 6 Florida, No. 18 Baylor, No. 20 Virginia and No. 21 Oklahoma State. The field also includes FIU, Florida State, Kent State, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi State, San Diego State, South Florida, Chattanooga.

The Crimson Tide return to action at the PING ASU Invitational on April 12-14 at the ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
