HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Alabama women's golf team begins play on Friday at the 2013 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the par-71, 6,211-yard Long Cove Club.

The Crimson Tide won the weather-shortened Darius Rucker Intercollegiate last spring with a 36-hole total of 3-over-par 571. Junior Stephanie Meadow will also be looking to defend a title after capturing medalist honors with a 5-under 137 last spring.

No. 20 Virginia is also in the field along with Auburn, Furman, LSU, South Carolina, TCU, No. 27 Tennessee, Central Florida and Wake Forest.

Head coach Mic Potter will start Stephanie Meadow, Jennifer Kirby, Hannah Collier, Emma Talley and Daniela Lendl for Alabama this weekend.
