Women's Golf Joined by Host Florida at the Top of the Gator Invite Leaderboard

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - University of Alabama women's golf team shot 13-over-par 293 in the second round of the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational and are tied for the team lead with host Florida on the par-70, 6,002-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course. The Gators were nine-strokes better than any other team in the field on Saturday to tie the Crimson Tide atop the leaderboard at 17-over-par 577. UA shot 284 in round one and 293 in round two while UF opened with a 294 on Friday and shot 3-over 283 Saturday. Georgia is in third place at 22-over-par 582 with Florida State (+23, 583) in fourth and South Florida (+28, 588) is fifth. Senior Brooke Pancake and sophomore Stephanie Meadow led Alabama in round two and are tied for fifth place individually at 2-over-par 142 heading into Sunday's third and final round. Meadow shot 1-over 71 in round two with Pancake carding a 2-over 72. Jennifer Kirby is tied for 17th after 36 holes of play following her second straight 3-over-par round of 73. Sophomore Hannah Collier, who shot even-par 70 on Friday, slipped back in the second round with a 7-over 77 to fall into a tie for 21st position. Freshman Johanna Tillström also carded a 77 on Saturday. The Crimson Tide will play with the host Gators during Sunday's final round as well as the third-place Georgia Bulldogs.
