Newcomer Spotlight: Khadijah Carter

Khadijah Carter joins the Crimson Tide after spending one season at Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, Texas. The 6-1 forward earned NJCAA First Team All-America honors and was named the Region XIV Freshman of the Year after averaging 18.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. Carter was also a three-point threat, hitting 40 percent of her shots from long range. Her top single-game performance came on Nov. 20, at Hill College, where Carter dropped 31 points in addition to a game-high 14 rebounds. She scored doubles figures in all but one game last season and collected 12 doubles-doubles along the way.

Why did you choose Alabama?

It is a great place, and I really liked the coaches.

What is your favorite thing about Tuscaloosa so far?

Campus!

What are your pregame rituals?

I listen to music, then quietness, then music again, then I'm hyped for the game!

What is something interesting about you that a lot of people may not know?

I have played almost every sport.

What are your interests/hobbies?

Sports!

If your best friend described you in three words, what would they be?

Goofy, funny and ambitious.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Hawai'i because it is pretty and peaceful.

What is the best moment of your basketball career thus far?

My jersey getting retired.

What do you want to do after college?

I'd like to coach or play professional basketball.

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

LeBron James

What are your personal goals for the upcoming season?

I want to be better than I've ever been!
