Women's Basketball Releases 2013-14 Schedule

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Crimson Tide women's basketball program and head coach Kristy Curry announced the 2013-2014 schedule on Tuesday. The slate includes 12 games against teams that advanced to postseason play in 2013, eight of which finished in the top 25.

"We are excited to be here and are really looking forward to getting this season started," said Curry. "Right from the start, we are faced with several challenges, playing three tough road games. This will certainly test us early, but it will also be good preparation for the always challenging Southeastern Conference schedule."

In addition to its 16-game SEC slate, Alabama will compete against teams from the Mid-American Conference, the Southern Conference, the Big Ten, the Big West, the American Conference, the Southwestern Athletic Conference, the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Ohio Valley Conference, the Atlantic Sun Conference, the Ivy League, the West Coast Conference and the Sun Belt.

The Tide will host one exhibition contest against West Alabama on Nov. 4, before tipping off the regular season on Nov. 8, at Chattanooga. Alabama will continue with road games to Nebraska (Nov. 11) and Duke (Nov.17) before facing Wisconsin (Nov. 21) and Alabama A&M (Nov. 25) at home. Alabama then travels to the West Coast for the Hilton Concord Thanksgiving Classic, joining Cal State Fullerton, Toledo at host institution, Saint Mary's, to finish out the month of November.

Following a month full of road games, the Tide will host four straight home matchups throughout December, seeing action against UT Martin (Dec. 4), Houston (Dec. 8), Jacksonville (Dec. 17) and Troy (Dec. 20). Following the holiday break, Alabama will head north to compete in the Cavalier Classic in Charlottesville, Va., along with Princeton, Virginia and Coppin State.

Alabama rings in the New Year with its first Southeastern Conference game of the season against Kentucky on Jan. 2, before preparing for at Jan. 5, road tilt with Texas A&M. The Tide will bring in Ole Miss (Jan. 12), Auburn (Jan. 16) and Georgia (Jan. 26) to Foster Auditorium for the month of January. The rest of the home slate includes Tennessee (Feb. 2), Texas A&M (Feb. 16), Mississippi State (Feb. 20) and LSU (March 2).

The Crimson Tide will pack its bags for three more January road games, including South Carolina (Jan. 19), Kentucky (Jan. 23) and Florida (Jan. 30). The rest of the away contests include Missouri (Feb. 9), Arkansas (Feb. 13), Vanderbilt (Feb. 23) and Auburn (Feb. 27).
