TUSCALOOSA – Following Alabama’s loss to Kentucky in the SEC finale, the Crimson Tide will be the 11th seed at the upcoming SEC women’s basketball tournament. The 2006 version of the event will begin on Thursday, March 2, at the ALLTEL Arena in North Little Rock, Ark.

The Tide will face the sixth seed at the tournament, the Commodores of Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt ended its SEC regular season with an 88-71 win over South Carolina in Nashville this afternoon. The Commodores beat Alabama, 65-53, in Tuscaloosa on Feb. 2.

The Alabama-Vanderbilt contest will begin at approximately 8:50 p.m. central time on Thursday and will be televised live by Fox Sports Net.
