TUSCALOOSA – The Crimson Tide women’s basketball team will conclude its regular season on Sunday, Feb. 26, with a game at Kentucky. The contest will be televised on Fox Sports Net South with Garry Gupton and Christi Thomas providing commentary for the network.

The Tide (9-17, 3-10) enters the game after dropping consecutive outings to top-five teams, with losses to No. 5 Tennessee and No. 3 LSU at home in its previous two contests. On Thursday night, UA was within six of LSU at the break, but a slow second half doomed the upset efforts. Alabama ended a long losing streak on the road in its last away game, beating Mississippi State, 61-59, on Feb. 12.

Kentucky (19-7, 8-5) have been one of the surprise teams in the SEC and in women’s college basketball this season. The Wildcats are looking to cement the fourth seed at next week’s SEC Tournament with a win over Alabama on Sunday.

The Tide will be the 11th seed at the SEC Tournament and could face South Carolina, Florida, Vanderbilt or Kentucky in the first-round game. Regardless of the opponent, Alabama will compete in the final game on the first day of action, Thursday, March 2, at 8:50 p.m. central time.
