TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The women's basketball team (9-13, 1-8 SEC) travels to Starkville, Miss., Thursday, Feb, 4 to take on the Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs (14-8, 5-4 SEC) in Humphrey Coliseum. The game is set to begin at 8:00 p.m. (CST) and will air live on ESPNU.

"We are getting ready to go play, what I think, is one of the most talented teams in the Southeastern Conference," said head coach Wendell Hudson. "This is definitely going to be a big test for us. One of the key challenges we'll face is to see if we can contain defensively."

The Crimson Tide will try to bounce back after a 78-41 loss to LSU on Sunday. Senior Dedrea Magee led Alabama in scoring with 12 points, while junior Tierney Jenkins collected seven points and seven rebounds. The Tide currently ranks second in the league in rebounding offense with an average of 41.2 boards per game.

Mississippi State also enters Thursday's game off a loss dropping a 69-59 decision at No. 23 Kentucky. Senior Alexis Rack leads five Lady Bulldog players with double-figure scoring averages with 19.9 points per game. She also ranks second in the SEC in scoring and leads the SEC in three-pointers with 3.8 per game.

Alabama leads the all-time series by a margin of 33-11 that dates back to 1977. The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Tide 67-49 last year in Tuscaloosa for their third straight win in the series. Alabama's last win against Mississippi State was on Feb. 12, 2006, by a score of 61-59.
