TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The women's basketball team (12-8, 2-5 SEC) will face the 13th-ranked Georgia Lady Bulldogs (17-3, 5-2 SEC) for the second time this season on Thursday in Athens, Ga. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. CT in Stegeman Coliseum.

The teams first met on Jan. 10, in a game that ended in Georgia's favor, 95-83, in Tuscaloosa. Thursday's game marks the 45th overall meeting between the Crimson Tide and Lady Bulldogs in the series that Georgia leads, 35-9. The Lady Bulldogs have won the last 22 meetings against Alabama as the Tide's last win in the series came on Feb. 8, 1998, by a 90-77 decision.

Alabama is coming off a 67-58 loss to Vanderbilt in a game where the Tide forced 27 Commodore turnovers, 14 of which were off steals.

Sophomore Daisha Simmons continues to lead Alabama in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game while junior Shafontaye Myers adds another 12.3 points per game for the Tide. Sophomore Kaneisha Horn averages a team-best 5.4 rebounds per game while Simmons records a team-high 4.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game.

Georgia has won four of its last five Southeastern Conference contests, with the only loss during that stretch coming to Texas A&M.

As a team, the Lady Bulldogs lead the league in steals, with 12.5 per game, and rank second in scoring defense, only allowing opponents to score 52.2 points per contest.

Senior Jasmine Hassell leads Georgia in scoring with 12.2 points per game while freshman Shacobia Barbee averages a team-best 5.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.7 steals per game.
