TUSCALOOSA – The University of Alabama women’s basketball team continues its busy week of home games on Wednesday night playing host to a very competitive South Dakota State team at 7 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum.

The Crimson Tide improved to 9-3 on Monday night with a hard-fought 60-56 victory over Florida International. The victory was the Tide’s second straight and also marked UA’s fifth consecutive home win this season. Wednesday night’s tilt with SDSU concludes the non-conference portion of the Tide’s schedule.

South Dakota State, a provisional NCAA Division I member this season after making the move up from Division II, has posted an impressive 11-4 overall record playing a mixed slate against both D-I and D-II opponents. SDSU will be playing its 10th Division I foe in Alabama and have posted a 5-4 record thus far including a win over SEC member Kentucky. The Jackrabbits have won their last two contests with victories at Oklahoma State (81-66) and at Middle Tennessee (58-56) on Monday night. SDSU reached the Division II Elite 8 in each of the past three seasons and captured a Division II National Championship in 2002-03.
