TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Junior Jasmine Robinson scored 14 of her 26 points in overtime to lead the Crimson Tide women's basketball team to an 88-83 victory over North Texas on Monday in Foster Auditorium. With the triple-overtime victory, Alabama improves to 4-0, while the loss drops the Mean Green to 0-3 on the season.

"I can't say enough about the maturity of our team in this particular game," said Alabama head coach Wendell Hudson. "We got off to a good start but then had trouble. We shot the ball 97 times and missed some wide-open shots and layups, but we were also doing a lot of good things."

Alabama led by as many as 15 points in the second half, but a 19-4 run by North Texas at the end of regulation sent the game into overtime. The Mean Green led towards the end of the first two bonus periods, but key free throws with two seconds remaining in the first and a jumper with four seconds left in the second by sophomore Daisha Simmons sent the game into its third, and final, overtime.

In the third, it was all Alabama as the Tide outscored the Mean Green, 8-3. A basket by sophomore Kaneisha Horn followed by a three-pointer by junior Shafontaye Myers got Alabama out to an 85-80 lead with just over one minute played. North Texas converted on the three-point play moments later to cut the Tide lead down to two, but the Mean Green would get no closer for the duration of the contest.

"Any time you can come back after you let a team get back in the game and let them feel like they can win, that's a big key," added Hudson. "When they thought they had the game, we did not give it to them."

In addition to her career-high 26 points, Robinson also had a career-best 13 rebounds for her first double-double. She was joined by Horn, who finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Simmons, who added 14 points and 11 boards. Myers also recorded her fourth-straight game in double figures with 22 points.

Alabama returns to the court on Sunday, Nov. 25, when it welcomes Southeastern Louisiana to Foster Auditorium. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased on RollTide.com or by phone by calling 1-877-TIDETIX (843-3849).
