Opening Statement
“It was good for us to see a different color jersey. It was also good to get into a game environment with the lights and the fans. I was pleased overall. There are still some things that we need to improve on and need to work through, free throws and rebounding, and we only had nine assists. We need to learn to trust each other more. I was pleased with our energy and effort. Their heart is in the right place and that is all you can ask for.”

On coaching in Foster for the first time:
“It felt amazing. I appreciate every fan that came out tonight. I have no doubt that this is going to be the best home court advantage in the country. When we get back and play against Big Ten Wisconsin it will be packed. It is a great gym, a great shooters gym, and I am excited to coach in it. I was extremely proud and happy to be here. There are butterflies, but there has been one common thread every day, they have given us everything that they have. We have had no issues. Their attitude and work ethic are phenomenal. As a group they are fun to coach. They want to be successful, and we have to learn to be successful. It is a process.”

#12 Shafontaye Myers, Guard

On the upcoming road games facing Nebraska and Chattanooga:
“It’s going to be tough. We’re facing better competition, so I really look forward to seeing who our team is, as individuals and as a whole.”

On her first game under new Head Coach Kristy Curry:
“It’s so exciting that we have a coach that loves us and cares for us and knows the game so well. She coaches phenomenally.”
