TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The No. 26 Alabama men's track and field team will compete for the final time before the NCAA Championships at the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame on March 5-6.

The Crimson Tide will be traveling select athletes for this weekend's meet in hopes of bettering their marks before the NCAA Championships and solidifying themselves a spot at the championships.

Senior Tyson David will be competing in the 5,000m run on Friday night. Last week, David posted a provisional qualifying time of 13:58.20 to place third. He currently ranks 23rd in the nation in the event.

After being sick for the SEC Championships, junior Fred Samoei will return to the oval on Saturday in the 800m run where he boasts a time 1:48.86 this season, ranking him 15th in the country.

The 4x400m relay team will also be competing on the Notre Dame campus on Saturday. The relay squad is currently ranked 21st in the nation with a time of 3:09.27.

High jumping freshman Mike Edwards and sophomore Tyler Campbell will be competing at the LSU NCAA Indoor Qualifier in Baton Rouge, La., on Friday, March 5.

At the SEC Championships last weekend, Campbell and Edwards finished fifth and sixth with leaps of 7-0 1/4 and 6-10 3/4, respectively. Edwards has the better mark this season, however, ranking 23rd in the country with a leap of 7-1 while Campbell's best leap is 7-0 1/4.
