Men's Tennis Heads to Auburn for USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The men's tennis team will be back in action this week when it heads to Auburn for the 2012 USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships, which will run Oct. 18-22. The Crimson Tide will send eight from its squad to take part in both singles and doubles.

Over a dozen teams from Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi will be competing in the five-day event. Representing the Tide will be Jarryd Botha, Brian Conlon, Stuart Kenyon, Becker O'Shaughnessey, Daniil Proskura, Carlos Taborga, Rens van der Vis and David Vieyra.

The tournament will consist of one singles draw of 128 and one doubles draw of 64 teams. There will be a consolation draw for first-round losers only.
