TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
The Crimson Tide men's tennis team will host the 2013 USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships Thursday, Oct. 10, through Monday, Oct. 14, at The University of Alabama Tennis Stadium. In addition to Alabama, 12 other teams will compete in the five-day tournament including UAB, Auburn, Louisiana, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Samford, South Alabama, Troy and Tulane.
Match play begins Thursday at 8:30 a.m. CT with the first round of doubles, followed by two rounds of singles. Friday's schedule will be the same with one round of doubles and two of singles, while Saturday features two rounds of doubles, one round of main draw singles and two rounds of consolation singles. Semifinals for all three draws will take place on Sunday with finals to follow on Monday.
The Tide will be represented by Hayes Brewer, Saxon Buehning, Sean Donohue, Andrew Goodwin, Stuart Kenyon, Nikko Madregallejo, Becker O'Shaughnessey and Daniil Proskura. Overall, the tournament has 81 singles and 38 doubles entries.
