Buikema & Thibaudeau Selected to NCAA Doubles Championships

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- Alabama's top doubles tandem of Daniel Buikema and Mathieu Thibaudeau will head to Tulsa, Okla., May 21-26 to compete in the 32-team field of the 2008 NCAA Men's Tennis Doubles Championships. The Tide tandem, ranked No. 16 nationally, is 29-10 overall and 22-3 at No. 1 doubles. The duo led the team in conference wins with eight and has defeated one top-10 pair during the regular season. Buikema and Thibaudeau will return to the NCAA Doubles Championships for the second consecutive year after making their debut in the 32-team field last year. The duo is 0-1 in the tournament after being defeated in the first round in 2007. All doubles matches at the tournament will be played via a best-of-three sets format with a 12-point tiebreaker at six games. Tournament brackets for singles and doubles will be released by the NCAA following the conclusion of the team championships.
