Men's Tennis to Take on Arkansas in the First Round of the SEC Championship

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The men's tennis team (12-12) will play its first match of the 2013 Southeastern Conference Championship on Wednesday against Arkansas (16-15). The 12th-seeded Crimson Tide and 13th-seeded Razorbacks will take the courts at 1 p.m. CT in Oxford, Miss., at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.

In the regular-season meeting, Alabama downed Arkansas, 6-1, in Fayetteville. The Tide dropped the doubles point, but came back to win all six singles matches against the Razorbacks. Wednesday's meeting will be the first in conference tournament play between the two teams. Alabama currently leads the all-time series against Arkansas, 15-9.

The winner of the match will advance to the second round to take on fifth-seeded Mississippi at 3 p.m. CT on Thursday.
