Former Tide Standout Saketh Myneni Wins Doubles Crown at Calabasas

CALABASAS, Calif. - Former tennis star Saketh Myneni and his partner Sanam Singh won the main draw doubles finals at the USTA Men's Pro Tennis Championship of Calabasas over the weekend. The duo knocked off three of the tournament's top four seeds, including the No. 1 seed.

Myneni and Singh ousted top-ranked Carsten Ball and Tennys Sandgren, who played his collegiate tennis at Tennessee, in the round of 16, 6-2, 6-0, before beating the American duo of Kevin King and Dennis Nevolo, 6-1, 7-5, in the quarterfinals. Myneni and Singh then took down the No. 3 seed in Marek Michalicka and Alexander Satschko, 6-4, 7-5, to advance to the finals, where they would face fourth-seeded Yong-Kyu Lim and Ji Sung Nam. Myneni and Singh dropped their first set of the tournament 6-7(3), but bounced back to win the next two, 6-2, 14-12 to win the doubles crown.
