Men's Tennis Kicks off Dual Match Slate with Triple Header on Saturday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The men's tennis team begins its 2014 dual match schedule on Saturday, hosting a triple header at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Indoor Tennis Facility. The Crimson Tide will take on UAB, Alabama A&M and Troy at 10 a.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. CT, respectively.

Alabama has four returning players this spring including senior co-captain Daniil Proskura, junior co-captain Stuart Kenyon and sophomores Brian Conlon and Becker O'Shaughnessey. The Tide also boasts five newcomers in transfer Andrew Goodwin and freshmen Hayes Brewer, Saxon Buehning, Sean Donohue and Nikko Madregallejo.

The Tide enters the season with two players ranked in singles and one team ranked in doubles. Proskura begins his senior campaign as the No. 14 singles player in the nation, while O'Shaughnessey starts off at No. 51. The two are also ranked 57th together nationally in doubles.

Alabama leads the series with UAB 18-4, which includes a 5-2 victory last season. The Tide has also won all 12 matches against Troy. This will be the first time Alabama will take on Alabama A&M.
