Men's Tennis Sends Three to Singles Round of 16 at Futures

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Alabama men's tennis team collected two wins in singles on Wednesday at the F28 Futures tournament at the Highland Park Tennis Center. Daniil Proskura and assistant coach Ryler DeHeart both earned straight set wins to join Becker O'Shaughnessey, who competed in his first round match on Monday, in the main draw round of 16.

Proskura started the day off with a commanding 6-1, 6-2 victory over Nik Scholtz, who is currently ranked No. 7 in the ITA national singles rankings. DeHeart followed that up with a 6-4, 7-6 win over Damon Gooch, the former No. 1 for Elon.

Match play resumes on Thursday at Highland Park.
