TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama men's tennis team won two matches on Saturday at the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships with one coming in singles and the other in doubles.
In the morning's doubles action, Becker O'Shaughnessey and Daniil Proskura posted an 8-3 victory for the Crimson Tide in the round of 16, but got tripped up in the quarterfinals, falling by the same score to Auburn's Joseph Van Dooren and Dan Cochrane.
In the singles consolation draw, Sean Donohue came back to beat Nicholls State's Bernard Wezeman, 1-6, 6-3, 10-6, however the Tide freshman would be forced to retire in his second match of the day to Austin Akers from Samford.
Regional action will continue in Tuscaloosa on Sunday at 9 a.m. CT with doubles.
