TULSA, Okla. - Daniil Proskura
won his final match in the qualifying draw of the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday to advance to the 64-person main draw. The Crimson Tide senior won his third match in as many days in straight sets, this time beating Oklahoma's Andrew Harris, 6-4, 6-2.
Proskura is slated to take on Wake Forest's Romain Bogaerts, a former Mississippi State Bulldog and the ITA's National Rookie of the Year a season ago, in the first round on Thursday at 11 a.m. CT. In addition to competing in singles, Proskura, and doubles partner Becker O'Shaughnessey, will represent Alabama in the 32-team doubles main draw, which also begins on Thursday. They will face TCU's Nick Chappell and Will Stein not before 5 p.m. CT.
