Jarryd Botha and David Vieyra bounced back from a first set loss to beat the Clemson sibling duo of Dominique and Yannick Maden, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, in the opening round of the 2013 NCAA Doubles Championship on Thursday. With the win, the Crimson Tide duo will now face Florida's Bob van Overbeek and Stephane Piro in the Round of 16 on Friday.
The Maden brothers, ranked 11th in the nation, took hold of the first set, however seventh-ranked Botha and Vieyra settled early in the second, getting off to a strong start to help them take the set, 6-4. The Tide duo picked up an early break in the third to lead, 3-1, but the Tigers would come back to even the frame at 3-3. From there, Botha and Vieyra would go on to claim three of the last four games for the win.
Earlier in the day, Botha also competed in the NCAA Singles Championship Round of 32, falling, 6-3, 6-2, to Clemson's Japie De Klerk.
