EL PASO, Texas - Alabama seniors Cory Whitsett and Bobby Wyatt wrapped up play at the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic on Tuesday at the par-71, 6,842-yard El Paso Country Club.
Whitsett, who won the 2011 College All-America Golf Classic, finished second in 2013 event at 10-under-par 203 after a 2-under 69 in the final round. Wyatt also carded a 69 on Tuesday to post a tie for 10th at 4-under 209.
Whitsett, from Houston, Texas, strung together rounds of 66 and 68 on Monday before Tuesday's 69. He made 15 birdies and just five bogeys during the 54-hole event. Wyatt, a native of Mobile, Ala., opened with a 72 in the first round and a 68 in round two to finish seven shots off the pace.
New Mexico's Gavin Green closed with a final-round 66 to edge Whitsett, who held the 36-hole lead at the end of play on Monday.
The Crimson Tide return to action on Feb. 17-19, 2014, at the Puerto Rico Classic where they will look to keep their undefeated record in tacked. Alabama has won all four team events on the fall schedule and 10 straight tournaments dating back to the spring.
