WINDERMERE, Fla. - After two wins to begin the 2013-14 season, the No. 1 Alabama men's golf travels to the 2013 Isleworth Collegiate Invitational this weekend to begin play on the par-72, 7,387-yard Isleworth Country Club.
The three-day event is set to begin Sunday, October 20, and conclude Tuesday, October 22, with one round of 18 holes being played daily.
The Crimson Tide will be joined at the Isleworth Collegiate by No. 3 California, No. 7 Illinois, No. 10 New Mexico, No. 14 Texas, No. 19 UCF, No. 20 Arkansas, No. 26 Florida State, No. 28 UNLV, No. 30 LSU, No. 31 TCU, Augusta State, North Florida, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt
Seniors Cory Whitsett, Bobby Wyatt and Trey Mullinax anchor the Alabama lineup that has won by an average of 17 shot in their first two tournaments of the season. Freshman Robby Shelton is playing in the No. 4 position while sophomore Tom Lovelady rounds out the Crimson Tide's lineup.
Mullinax leads Alabama with a 69.50 scoring average (0.50 strokes per round) through six rounds this season with Shelton right behind at 69.83 (-.17 strokes per round). Lovelady boasts a scoring average of 70.33 while Wyatt and Whitsett are both averaging 71.67.
This is the sixth consecutive year Alabama has competed at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational. The Crimson Tide and won the event in 2010 and finished third a season ago. The Tide is slated to tee off at 7 a.m. (CDT) on the first tee and will be playing with Vanderbilt and Texas Tech.
