JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - Darkness halted the finish of play in the second round here at the Bank of Tennessee at the Ridges golf tournament where the University of Alabama is having its season opener. Six teams, TCU, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Georgia, Oklahoma and Kansas were still on holes 15-18 Saturday evening when play was halted. Those teams will finish out their second round play Sunday before the start of the third round.
Alabama was one of the teams that completed both rounds on Saturday. While the standings are incomplete, the Crimson Tide shot 299 in the morning round and 311 in the afternoon. Lars Brovold and Daniel Creel had Alabama's best scores for the day. Brovold shot 71, the team's low individual score, in the first round but 78 in the second. Creel had Alabama's low second round score. He shot 74, following up the 75 he shot in round one.
